Survivors of sexual abuse healing together

Anyone can be a victim of sexual abuse; perpetrators can be adults or children. The impact can be long lasting. Sexual abuse can contribute to depression, anxiety, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), relationship and psychosexual difficulties, eating disorders, substance abuse and self-harm. Group therapy can help you recover from the impact of sexual abuse; however, some individuals may require individual therapy before joining the group. I provide a safe, warm and confidential space to help you recover from the impact of sexual abuse. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like to know more information.

Support for partners of sexual addicts

What is sexual addiction? There are no formal diagnostic criteria for sex addiction, sometimes referred to as compulsive sexual behaviour.  It is characterised by excessive urges to have sex or engage in other sexual related behaviours, even when such actions may be detrimental to your physical health, emotional wellbeing and social standing.

It can be very difficult to deal with the devastating effect of discovering your partner has a sex or porn addiction. You may have suspected your partner for years, or it may come as a complete shock.  Group therapy can help you break the feeling of isolation through meeting other partners in a  safe and confidential place.  If you would like more information, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Help with your relationships

Do you need help with your relationships?  Do you find it difficult to be open and honest with others about how you feel? Do you spend more time questioning other people's actions and words than examining your own?  Of course there are some things that are unacceptable and should never be tolerated, however blaming others is not conducive to healthy relationships, overtime it leads to anger and resentment.  The key to good relationships is taking responsibility for our role in the situation and changing our behaviour.  Counselling and psychotherapy can help you to gain a better understanding of yourself which in turn will help you to achieve better personal and professional relationships.  Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require any additional information.

Build your confidence

Do you struggle to believe in yourself? Are you plagued by a critical negative voice in your head? Do you compare yourself to others, only to decide everyone else is more capable, confident, successful and creative than you? Psychodynamic therapy is based on the understanding that we repeat patterns of behaviour. I will work with you to help you to understand and change your patterns of relating enabling you to achieve more of your personal and professional goals. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require any additional information.
